I was happy to receive a package from the airport on the 31st of last month...below are a few adventures my package and I had the next three days :)
Friday
| DADDY! :) |
| Daddy pretending to be Samson at Byblos :) |
| Byblos in ruins |
Standing in the doorway of one of the ancient tombs. This one was
the tomb of King Abi Chemu who was a contemporary of the
12th Egyptian dynasty (1990-1880 B.C.) (according to the signs there :)). |
| Abi Chemu's sarcophagus...maybe |
| A small amphitheater with a grand view |
| The interior of a crusaders castle that looms over the ruins of old Byblos |
| The view from the battlements |
Sabbath
| Potluck :) (she was lucky) |
Sunday
Breakfast! (pomegranates, persimmons, pita bread, humus, baba ganoush, olives, tomatoes, and cucumbers...a very good breakfast :) ) |
| At the National Museum...The sarcophagus of Hiram King of Tyre |
| The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque...very beautiful |
To see the outside of this mosque look in the October file under
Pictures and the first picture is of the outside of this mosque at night. |
| Tyre! |
| The gateway to a market place and grave yard |
A very large amphitheater. It looked like it had been
used for chariot races...reminded me of Ben Hur again :) |
| Galyna and I. Galyna was wonderful to take us to Tyre...very thankful :) |
| Happy |
| On the drive back to Beirut we naturally stopped by Sidon to buy ice-cream ;) |
